Working with what I’m good at. Every kind of photography has it’s own requirements
in equipment. You don’t do underwater photography with a standard digital camera or without scuba gear. I’ve turned down wedding photography simply because it requires special lighting equipment. The real challenge though is in skill. Each kind of photography requires different and unique uses of light and approach. Knowing which angles will enhance the subject and which framing will work best comes of years of experience taking thousands of photos. I started when I was 12 working with a Cannon 35mm photographing the Jicarilla Apache Reservation around me – the people, the homes, the mountains. I’m still using a Cannon, though now it’s digital. I enjoy photographing landscapes, city-scapes, architecture, people, food, flowers & plants, the American Southwest.
