Bisbee, Arizona, is both a challenge and a delight to photograph. She is constantly in shadow and contrast is high. The town runs up the sides of Tombstone Canyon and Brewery Gulch stacking buildings one above another, linking them with endless flights of stairs. Early citizens from all over Europe constructed this urban outpost in their own image, so the buildings are architectural wonders. When mining ceased the town was occupied by mad artists who have left their quirky stamp.
