Gourmet Hotdogs are hard to imagine. When I first posted photos of a meal a Jimmy’s Hotdogs in Bisbee to Facebook, Jimmy soon had new customers. My friends and I eat there whenever possible. The food is that good!

Photos of food need to tell its story and need to make it look good, look like something you want to eat, right now! Like people, food has personality. Sometimes the ambiance of the restaurant is an important part of the story. Then you want to step back and capture the table setting. Usually, it’s not. Then you want to close in. Food photography is a cooperative effort with the chef. The cook needs to understand presentation. If he doesn’t, your job will be hard. That’s when a hat full of tricks becomes important to save the cook from himself.
